Sony A7III, November Portfolio

Just about 4 weeks ago in early November, I traded my Canon 1DX for a Sony A7III. When I got that little Sony Camera, trying to understand the menu and how it works I thought I had made a mistake and at some point I was regretting the configuration on my 1DX for the last 5 years. This said, the Sony camera is extremely fast-focusing in automatic mode. The face recognition and eye tracking are just adding one more layer of technology and it's absolutely fantastic. Last but not least, the files are awesome, the grain is fine and precise, and there is almost no post prod to do. Most of the following pictures were taken with a pancake Canon  40mm 2.8 STM lense mount on a Sigma MC-11 adaptor and taken between ISO12800 and 25600. Pretty impressive in low light-:)

On November 03, 2018, my eldest son Olivier Blouin hired me as assistant to shoot dining room arrangements by Cirque du Soleil designers Melissa Thompson and Catherine Nadeau, at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. I am being assigned to shoot details in every dining room while he takes care of the architectural aspect of the space. I’m using the A7III for the first time and honestly it takes a while to get used to the camera. The electronic view finder seems to show the image brighter than reality. The camera is light, small and extremely fast, and once you get used to it the results are impressive and the fun begins!
